Yesterday the "trump unity bridge" and some protestors were on a corner near where I live (8 mile and haggerty road in Novi, Michigan if you want to map it). I have to laugh because they were holding up honk for trump signs and no one was honking lol
They had set up shop in the parking lot of a closed Big Boy restaurant and I noticed they were flying a "trump won" flag beneath the American flag on the flag pole of the Big Boy. Now, I have no idea if there had any kind of permission or permit to be there, but today they are all gone. EXCEPT, the "trump won" flag is still flying from the flag pole! This almost feels like a form of vandalism to me to use the flag pole at an abandoned restaurant to fly political material.
Should I report this? I feel stupid, i'm sure the city/police have better things to do, and if whoever owns the property granted them permission to fly the flag, again i think it is a waste of time since they can't take it down
just frustrates the hell out of me that we have to put up with looking at this shit.

(29,540 posts)is the American flag lit at night at an abandoned restaurant? If not, it should come down too. Wrap yourself in flag etiquette.

(9,852 posts)city hall and ask if the people have permission. Or you can call and find out who the owner is and call them and ask, or apprise them of the situation if they didn't know. They may not have known. That's about the extent of things.

You can then notify them of the situation. They will then make the decision on how to handle it.

(2,736 posts)The cop you would report it to could be a MAGAt and then make you miserable.
Or he could tell his other MAGAts that "that Biden-lover doesnt like Trump".
I say ignore it and avoid any hassle.

(30,656 posts)One of my most loyal Democrats used to live in that house. He died at 83. His trumper son inherited.
The son was flying a trump flag day and night.
I called our mayor. He has done a lot of work on flooring and carpeting in our house, so we know each other well. His daughter is a friend. I did not threaten or bluster. I don't even get to vote for the guy, since I live outside of city limits.
I told him that I knew there were city ordinances about political signs and banners. They are to be displayed only during a limited time period before elections. I wondered if the trump flag was in violation of that ordinance. The banner is no longer flying.
I know that there is at least one other trump flag flying. It is on a side street, and not nearly as noticeable. I haven't said anything about that one, because I am picking my battles.
