that actually was based on true Cost of Living. Not an "indexed" COL increase. I'm sure the rest of the Fed workforce would appreciate it as well, but since seniors are generally, by dint of age, usually unable to get beyond the "fixed" income, it really IS an important point that keeps getting forgotten, it seems.

Kill the upper level of FICA. Tax ALL. Everyone gets Social Security if they've paid into it. That's fair, and I like the way it's an "insurance" program. But the same people who are taxed on only a small portion of their income receive more in SS benefits each month because of their total life-time extraordinary incomes. THAT doesn't seem fair. Especially since women start behind the 8 ball from the very beginning of their careers and rarely are able to get out in front of it.
