A phone call soliciting funds

I wasn't home when I got the call. My insurance company had been calling me, so I answered in case it was them.

What I got was a guy who said he represented a politician (or a group) who supported Blue Lives Matter and went into a spiel, ending with asking me if I'd send a one time donation to support Blue Lives Matter. I coldly said it would depend on the politics, so he thanked me and hung up.

Pretty sure if I get anything from them, it'll go right into my circular file.

1. Where I live, police and firefighter associations frequently request donations via telephone contact

Usually, I tell them I already donated and hang up. I donate to my favorite animal welfare, environmental and political groups online of my own choosing, to ensure that 100% of the money goes to the charity and not to paid fundraisers.

2. I get those too

I support my local volunteer f.d. and 2 animal welfare organizations. And Dems running for office.

I don't think this guy was local, unless they changed their patter.
