well in SC, and expanded Democrats vision of what is possible in deep red states

He ran a campaign on massive registration of African Americans, but also tried to attract white voters who ha become disillusioned by Graham, by exploiting Graham’s flip-flopping, along with the fact that graham’s friendship with trump did little to benefit the state

Unfortunately the pandemic forced Harrison to pause his aggressive voter-registration effort, where he planned to tour across every county in SC, where he moved online where rural residents lack adequate internet speeds.

Republicans had no qualms about in-person campaigning, along with the partisan lean of the state along with trump’s popularity there.

Harrison’s loss had nothing to do with Feinstein. It was an uphill battle from the start, and he did extraordinarily well under the circumstances

Stacy Abrams demonstrated how it could be done, and Harrison almost did it

The populace in SC could give a rat’s ass what a liberal Senator from California did

I'm NERVOUS about this recall. In fact you could say I'm scared shitless this is going to go south on us. Dems were the majority of registered voters when Gray got recalled. you do remember that right?

For California, the problem has always been about turnout. ESPECIALL on the off year elections and special elections.

Every freakin time it goes bad for us.

Our state legislature needs to pass a law like they have in some states that any governor making a Congressional appointment must choose someone of the same party as the person who vacated that office. Problem solved, and it's a very fair law.

I suspect that as long as Feinstein is still generally sharp and feels she has much to offer, and has very highly qualified assistants to remind her of any slipped details, she won't resign, or need to.

Also that as long as she is in office she will draw far more criticism -- harsh, hostile criticism -- than the contemporaneous crop of elderly male senators put together. It takes a lot more than a century to change attitudes implanted over millennia.

That could happen to a number of Senators, Leahy, Sanders, etc. with republican governors, but it is Feinstein who concerns them

The people in California will make that decision

I received my recall information ballot today, and have been phone banking for Newsom

I don’t think the recall will be successful

Every registered voter will be sent a mail in ballot with a postage paid stamp, and California insures all votes are counted. There are 45% registered Democrats and 20 some percent republicans, and the majority of no party preference, lean progressive
