(149,308 posts)I am so glad that Joe Biden kept his promise to Pete, and made him part of his Cabinet.
It's an important step for him on the road to his Presidency.

(63,221 posts)It's hard for anyone to argue against what he has to say because he's so reasonable and has all the facts to back up his positions.

(36,231 posts)I've said for a long time, we need to dust off that old Joe Conservative essay and ask the repubs in our lives, "What is it you oppose about these ideas?" Pete just did it! He pointed out all the supposed "liberal" ideas that most Americans favor, and then pointed the finger at the repub obstructionists in congress, for not supporting those things.
Nicely done!

(16,820 posts)He would be an excellent Press Secretary, but I think he's where he needs to be for now. Maybe if he does a good job at Transportation he can move up the ladder. It would be good for him to have some experience in the State Department. I hope future administrations will utilize his talents. I really want to see him as President one day, hope we can get there.

(10,378 posts)His only drawback in the primary was "only" being a small-town mayor. Which isn't really a bad thing.
But I'm glad he's getting federal-level experience. I agree with the post above, he'd be great in the State Dept to get foreign experience too.

(16,888 posts)I think we need to have a better understanding of the qualifications for the job as 'President.'
Of course, TFG didn't even meet the basic qualifications for being a decent human being......
And a brilliant as Pete is I believe he'd make a GREAT president!

Cruz, DeathSantiss, Ayn Rand Paul are busy using every adjective to trash the libs - radical, left wing, Antifa to name a few. We must grab the loose nomenclature and run with it for ourselves.

It reminds me of the old joke about a bear tapping a guy on the shoulder from behind and asking "You're not really here for the hunting, are you?"

The task for Republicans now is to take the money behind their backs and shun the money up front.
The problem for Democrats in the future will be convincing Americans to keep them around after the money has been doled out.
