The Governor of Florida banned vaccine passports so his Republican followers could freely pass along the COVID variants to whomever they wished without consequences. A Federal Judge has put that absurd plan on hold and is allowing cruise lines to demand proof of COVID vaccination so they can protect their crews, other passengers and ports of entry. We have lost about 2% of our population to this virus and it escapes me why the Republicans want more people to die when using simple safeguards like vaccines, masks and vaccine passports would reduce the toll. I am guessing it’s the same mental exercise that prevents them from wanting common sense laws for guns, residential buildings, pollution and global warming. All disasters, awaiting solutions.

8. In DeSantis' campaign for president, there is no sacrifice too great; as long as it is someone else.

He knows that he could not win without the hard-core right, so he is directing his efforts to pleasing them. The only choice he has now is to go all in. If he stands his ground and is reelected as governor, we will get the state government we deserve. If he loses his reelection bid, then he is toast for the Presidential race. He has worked himself into a hard place trying to out-trump Trump.
