Gustavo Sanchez Martinez is a disabled swimmer and multiple medal winner in the Paralympics, but what is extraordinary is he was born without a left hand, and both legs.
"Paralympic swimming champion Gustavo Sanchez Martinez reflects on how he was once told to get used to the stares of other people as a series of adults and children gaze directly into the camera. Martinez gives permission to stare as the montage ends with his own eyes -- obscured by goggles -- just before he launches himself from the starting block into a pool to train. "When you're a two-time gold medalist," he notes, unbothered, those stares "come with the territory." Citi says it's proud to support global Paralympic athletes like Martinez "for the love of progress and changing perceptions."
