...until the two political Parties can agree that the truth is important. If they cannot agree on that most simple premise, the divisions will continue to grow and to widen.
It will not disappear. It will not go away. The wounds are deep and psychological.
Until they get to the bottom of what happened on January 6th, the wounds will only fester and worsen.
There can be no closure until the two Parties agree that the truth is important and that January 6th must be investigated and those that are guilty of a crime must be held accountable.

(17,778 posts)Neo fascist Republican politics cannot exist in the light of truth. They know that and like their cushy jobs too much to change. That would also take far more moral fiber than they all possess collectively. Best we can hope for is to marginalize them down to a size where they can be drowned in a bathtub, to borrow a phrase from Lee Atwater.
