The media has thoroughly covered the opinions of only one group: Trumpanzees. Their's are the only opinions, only world view that matters.
Instead of focusing on the least informed, the most profoundly ignorant, the least read, the most anti-intellectual, why not highlight people who have been vaccinated and are now able to visit family and friends?
Why not interview people who wear masks regularly as a matter of cause?
Why not interview a vaccinated person who contracted coronavirus but did not require hospitalization because of being vaccinated (so called break-through case)?
Why not highlight all the desired behaviors a normal, considerate, cogent people would want instead of the behaviors that prolong all our miseries and misfortunes?

(50,934 posts)they are smarter than the effete college libruls, and they will simply do the opposite of whatever the effete college libruls do.
For the men, I think it let's them think they are real men who are tougher and smarter than the libruls because they have "horse sense" and that is much more valuable in their eyes than an effete librul education.
And for the women, I think it is much the same concept except that it let's them think of themselves as pioneer-women types, a version of the above "real men" that women can be comfortable with as a self identity. It is attractive because it distinguishes them from them librul feminist types.
I think this is all about their feelings of inferiority and their masking of those feelings. As such, they will never go back on those opinions because if they do their self images will fall apart.
I think it has nothing to do with a larger effort against Biden.

(30,997 posts)But I do believe some of the leaders in the GOP are capable of this kind of dirty politics

(50,934 posts)it would stall the Democratic agenda.
Which is essentially what you are saying they are doing, and I agree. Insofar as they are the ones who define the parts of the librul agenda that the rank and file are instructed to reject in order to be real men.

(9,319 posts)But many RW talking heads and politicians, I believe, want the vaccine effort to fail and for cases and deaths to rise in large part to make Biden and others look bad.

Example; Rand Paul was banned from You Tube for a week for posting a lying video, so what do CNN and MSNBC do, they show the banned video that was taken down on You Tube giving it more publicity than it would have gotten.

(19,192 posts)Apparently sacrificing right-wing lives is all part of a day's work as long as you can lay claim to, " owning the libs".
We can't understand this extremist viewpoint, but they do, and they have the will (or stupidity) to pull it off.

(866 posts)I really love Donie OSullivan, but I kind of wish he didnt think CNN has him pigeonholed into freakies interviews. Maybe they could tell him to interview a crazy, over the top, vaccinated, mask wearing, social occasion avoiding liberal (Ill volunteer).

(47,357 posts)you'd get the impression that the majority of people don't wear masks, aren't vaccinated, and don't socially distance. Then again, I suppose it is a good idea to put a spotlight on the people who are causing the greatest problems.

(50,934 posts)During WW2 it was all about people doing their part, etc. After 9/11 it was photos of neighborhoods with flags on every door.
Now we have these assholes. I'm truly not interested in hearing what another one of them wants to say. They are pitiful and the sad fact is that many of them will soon be dead or permanently disabled. And we can't do anything about that.
So let's stop giving them the attention they crave so much they are willing to die for it.

(6,699 posts)Nobody care what these stupid morons have to say....but it's a "freak show", same as was true for the biggest freak of them all, the twice impeached pussy-grabbing narcissistic pathological liar himself.
You see. It's all about ratings. "Did you hear what that ignorant gun hugging Bible thumper just said.." That's what corporate "news" is today. It's a different sort of "soap opera". Like when Ann Coutier would say some outrageous, offensive crap - the corporate whores played it. Now its greene, boebbert, gaetz, gym jordan, cruz, blackburn, gohmert....they cover the most ignorant and offensive clowns and stooges in politics today. It's a "freak show", and the corporate puppet masters want to make us hungry to hear the most asinine of the low lifes in our land.
Ignore them, and they fade away...but then they might lose ratings points, so they continue to give these idiots a platform to spew their nonsense.

(45,409 posts)but trumpanzees would say they can visit family and friends because freedom. They can infect others if they want to, and die if they want to. Consequences will be blamed on foreigners or someone else.

(10,045 posts)was in the hospital in Florida with covid, and he (the father) was in California. The son was not vaccinated. The man had covid last year and was not vaccinated and just decided with the delta to get the jab, though he still was hesitant. This man went on a rant because the nurses or doctors at the hospital would not get back to him, in a timely manner, when he wanted an update on his son. No awareness of the ordeal that the doctors and nurses were in, with the influx of covid patients in Florida. Then he said one nurse allowed a facetime with his son that very day. No questions on why was his son not vaccinated, just let him go on and on about nobody keeping him up to date on his sons condition. If he was going for sympathy he lost me totally, but I was pissed that Lemon did not push back more on the entitlement and lack of vaccination.
