They are culling the herd. Make no mistake about it, this is not a story of dumb, feckless, incompetent individuals. This is a plan that was conceived of and put in place by dark powers that have been right under our noses for a long time. Dispense with the old, the weak and the noisy ones and they rid themselves of all the social security nets leaving more for themselves. They have a vision of a new society and it doesn't include us.
Again, we need to call this what it is. Trump and Abbott and DeSantis are not stupid. They know exactly what they are doing but, more than that, they are in the employ of others. In my mind, after all the talk, the pleading and the dying, there is just no other explanation.
Tell me I'm wrong and, more than that, tell me why.

(53,764 posts)And btw, trump never runs anything that's successful. But this operation mentioned that's supposed to be culling the herd, why would they kill off winger voters?
And who are these dark forces? This claim is sounding like Lindel's and Giuliani's claims to have prove of election fraud but they never show it.
Where's the proof. Show the receipts. Who is running whatever is supposedly being run?

(20,648 posts)You are correct: They think their refusals place them higher on the ladder above others in the endless race to please the invisible daddy in the sky. Trump is only the missionary to their fiendish gawd.

(73,528 posts)It is essential to focus on de-programming the flock. To do so, it is necessary to appreciate there are several levels of people not getting vaccinated, with the media frequenly focusing upon the most ignorant and loud-mouthed sub-group. And that is indeed the largest sub-group, though not the only one.
Cults always depend upon an "us versus them" mindset. They believe they are "the chosen," often in a quasi-religious sense, despite the human history of self-appointed chosen people being "punished" for such ignorance. However, the "us versus them" ideology never fades when confronted with scorn and hatred by those they identify as "others." That does not, indeed can not happen. So step two in deprogramming requires an appreciation of that basic truth.
Deprogamming a single cult member is a long and tedious process. But it is the level most available, since the social-political dynamics of the day simply do not allow for other options.

(2,162 posts)(in the case of Abbott) would he not go full-on "hoax" / "vaccines are dangerous"? Instead, he both acknowledges the reality and severity of covid and the efficacy of vaccines, just wrapped in a "personal responsibility" / "keep the govt out of my decisions" veneer:
[Texans] have the individual right and responsibility to decide for themselves and their children whether they will wear masks, open their businesses, and engage in leisure activities, he said. Vaccines, which remain in abundant supply, are the most effective defense against the virus, and they will always remain voluntary never forced in the State of Texas.
Pretty mealy-mouthed for the sinister conspiracy you describe.

(13,886 posts)his money?
TheProle
(2,162 posts)I'm in Texas and have to live with and witness the fallout from his idiocy. That people will die is not in question, nor is his willingness to let that happen in the context of cowboy-style small govt.
But what money are you talking about him getting? Money buys influence, for sure, and there is no question that it's toxic to democracy.
But if you have evidence of a check he's getting from his dark overlords with "kill people" in the memo line, I would like to see it.

(10,157 posts)I have a friend who is always sending me videos along these lines, making cryptic statements that essentially say its hard to describe what going on and implying he understands something I dont. I occasionally look at something he sends me and its just not very convincing. I admit some of the points sort of make sense, but I just dont see a grand scheme. He somehow ties Covid to global warming and a reset of society. I dont think we need a conspiracy to account for mass stupidity. Im more of the opinion weve always had those people but social media and the internet have given them a louder voice.

(15,190 posts)There are a whole lot more effective means to kill of "the surplus population" than this. Over 600,000 deaths so far is a lot, but you'd have to reach over three million deaths to have knocked off a mere 1% of the US population.
The deaths from COVID tilt heavily toward the most easily manipulated. Whether you posit that it's Trump and the Republicans doing this, or a higher-level secret cabal pulling their strings, what good is it to kill off the most easily manipulated?
These sorts of conspiracy theories are typically flawed by imagining the rich and the powerful as sharing a common agenda, and that they would be cooperative about pushing that agenda. There are things like wanting low taxes and deregulation that the super-elite tend to have in common, but merely acting in their own individual interests is enough to get benefits like that without having to collaborate or conspire.
The rich and powerful are a fiercely competitive, very individualistic bunch, with many mutually-incompatible desires and goals. Some of them are smart, and gained their money and power that way. Others are dumb as shit and just inherited what they have or otherwise lucked out.
Its the capitalist system that needs us alive to keep the machine going. We are already controlled, and have been forever, by economics. Thats capitalism. When people get sick and things shut down the system doesnt function. Rich and poor, taking the vaccine and wearing masks.

(30,613 posts)when he told people it would magically go away, when he told people to drink bleach and malaria drugs, and shove a tanning lamp up their ass, when he left the stocks of vaccines at zero on his way out the door, when he made mask refusal a badge of honor even after it nearly killed many of his White House team?
It takes a really special skill for denial to see this massive genocide as "indifference amplified by willful ignorance."

(30,613 posts)As politicians dependent on voters, they would be idiots to cull their own herd.
But they don't see themselves as dependent on voters. That's because they are dependent on Roubles.
Putin is paying them to weaken America.
Trump (prompted, no doubt by smarter and equally evil people, such as Stephen Goebbels Miller) deliberately laid the groundwork for the pandemic, starting years ago, when he fired our people inside Wuhan, and fired the Pandemic Re3sponse Team. He and Putin's myriads of minions in the Reptilian Party have continued the genocide with vigor ever since he successfully imported the virus.
