"Common sense" (which is actually a pet peeve saying for me) is likely some amalgamation of critical thinking skills and evidence based information. It is so diffuse that it really doesn't have any real meaning. Kind of like when right wingers say, "freedom". Okay, what, what is it? For who? For what purpose? Etc...

Common Sense: If you throw a rock straight up in the air above your head, it will come back down and strike you in the head if you do not move out of the way. Why? because the theory of Gravity dictates that when you throw an object with sufficient mass into the air, the attraction between the object and the earth, will pull the object back down at the gravitational constant. What goes up, comes back down.

Greene is so stupid, or evil, but likely both, that she doesn't understand that PRIOR TO COVID-19, hospitals were rarely full with all of the other sources of illness and injury combined. That COVID-19 cases account for 30% of the current hospitalization rate. THERFORE the other 1000 reasons that usually account for 100% of the hospital rate, have to be squeezed into 70% capacity OR 30% less space BECAUSE of COVID-19.

Another example for the idiot Greene. Let's say that local area hospitals are operating regularly, around 50 to 70 percent capacity. There is an explosion at the Chemical plant where 5,000 people work. All of a sudden all of the local hospitals will fill to capacity BECAUSE OF THE CHEMICAL PLANT EXPLOSION. COVID-19 is not the sole reason why people go to the hospital, but because infections are so rampant right now, it is the reason for the added strain on the hospitals' capacity.

If people got the vaccine and were still practicing precautions, like washing hands, wearing masks, and avoiding unnecessary social interaction, the hospitalization rate from COVID-19 would not be 30% of capacity. It is the fault of stupid, irresponsible politicians like Greene and fellow Republicans that the rates are increasing.

About the FDA approval process. It will happen when it happens. Not according to political calculations. This is not the Trump administration, where everything was about how it would affect his ratings and chances of re-election. The Biden Administration is about following the lead of the experts in public health and infectious disease control. Emergency Use means, that sufficient evidence of safety has been provided to authorize use to control health emergencies that threaten public safety. Just because Trump never really understood that, doesn't mean that someone intelligent like Biden and Biden's staff, don't understand it. Only idiots like Greene would speak with seeming confidence about something they don't even understand. She gets it from her mentor, Trump.

that makes civil society civil....and safe. Laws, fire protection, education, military spending, hospitals, etc. We're all going to kiss it goodbye someday anyway.

What a trogdolyte. She's happy with her lunch of grubs and bugs, sounds like.

...of car accidents, trauma, heart attacks, strokes, giving birth, you know, all those other things that are highly contagious, and we have those optional vaccines for. Oh, wait...

Woman I played golf with today said the local hospital in Waynesville, WNC is full. Patients have to be sent to Mission in Asheville, which is also full of Covid patients.

Until the woo folks bought into the debunked and discredited vaccines cause autism nonsense, I don't remember this much dug in stupidity and bellicose obstinance with any vaccine, not even the one we give to adolescents to prevent HPV.

than we did a century ago.

So stupid. Is she against all other vaccinations? She may as well be, given that reasoning. She should be against any mitigating action.
