McConnell killed election reform in Senate. Democrats will now take it to the people

WASHINGTON — Mitch McConnell held his entire Republican caucus together to effectively kill the Democrats’ highest legislative priority of the year, a transformative 888-page bill intended to make it easier to vote, rein in the wealthy’s impact on elections, and outlaw the gerrymandering process that constructs partisan congressional districts.

But Democrats stuck together, too, and after the defeat they universally vowed they’d just begun the fight.

While prospects for an overhaul of elections died legislatively with Tuesday’s 50-50 completely party line vote, Democrats and their progressive allies now intend to launch a multifaceted national political campaign that targets Republican senators, keeps the pressure on moderate Democrats and further villainizes the Senate Republican leader from Kentucky.

“In the fight for voting rights, this vote was the starting gun. Not the finish line,” declared Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., after the vote on the motion to proceed to a debate on the sweeping legislation failed to net the 60 votes necessary to advance.

Personally, I would brand the KKK sticker on the GOP; Present them as the party of the good old days (lynching, church bombings, racial voter suppression, confederacy, and anti-normal religion).

And lets be honest, some of the GOP long for the days of Slavery and Genocide.

Represent them on the COVID-19 as anti-science and medicine (portray them with horse and buggy’s, combined with leeches on the arm).

They just need someone with a spine to portray the GOP cause their nice guy messaging ain’t gonna do it.

They put Democrats in charge despite massive republicon cheating and vote suppressing.

"The people" have also been speaking up. Including "the people" in West Virginia.

I will never believe Joe Manchin, or Sinema, expected anything else. They enabled this. When republicons control everything for decades, thank them.

It's why Moscow Mitch relinquished Senate control w/o Shumer promising to leave the filibuster alone.
