Two Men Found Dead in the Versace Mansion
A day ahead of the anniversary of Gianni Versace’s murder, the late fashion designer’s former Miami mansion was the site of another criminal investigation.
Miami Beach police were called to the former Versace mansion in South Beach on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Miami Herald, after housekeeping discovered two dead bodies inside one of the suites just before 1:30 p.m. After cops and fire rescue responded to the call, detectives were brought in to investigate the incident. According to police department spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez, who spoke to the outlet, the two men died from gunshot wounds to the head. He added that following a preliminary investigation, their cause of death indicated an apparent double suicide or murder-suicide, though he did not know “the order or sequence.” The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office is still determining the official cause of death.
On Thursday the men were identified as 31-year-old Adam Rashap of Randolph, New Jersey, and 30-year-old Alexander Gross of York, Pennsylvania. The Herald noted that some calls to the two men’s families went unanswered and were not returned, adding that in two instances, family members said they didn’t wish to speak.
