back on the 2008 Race For the White House show. She didn't take his crap, he stormed off the set, and she magnanimously said maybe he was tired.

He's held a grudge ever since then. Every video of that on YouTube or any other site has been removed, because he threw a tantrum.

Unfortunately, he has inroads with NBC management. She may not realize how appreciated she really is.

As we've seen, having the highest-rated show is no guarantee of anything at that network.

Joe Scarborough Walks Off MSNBC's "Race To The White House" After Exchange With Rachel Maddow

Update from MSNBC spokesman Jeremy Gaines to Huffington Post:
"Joe didn't walk off. He chose not to participate in the final couple of minutes of the discussion because he felt the conversation didn't fit his role as a political analyst."

Previously:
Did Joe Scarborough walk out of David Gregory's show "Race to the White House" Thursday night on MSNBC? It seems that way by the video below. Joe was a panelist on the show along with Air America's Rachel Maddow, CNBC's John Harwood and former Tennessee Congressman Harold Ford, Jr.

The panel was discussing the effect of Sen. Obama's personal and professional relationships on his campaign when Rachel and Joe disagreed. Joe started to challenge Rachel's argument that relationships only become an issue when a political opponent makes them an issue, but she cut him off, "Let me make my point and then you can dismiss me." She then finished with an example of a McCain campaign co-chair in Florida's bathroom activities.

After a commercial break, Joe prefaced his rebuttal to Rachel's point by saying "I don't engage in Crossfire-type debates and certainly I don't want to talk about what people do in bathrooms." When he finished speaking, and after David Gregory had shut Joe vs. Rachel down, John Harrow came on camera. Then, viewers can hear Joe taking off his microphone (2:47 into the below video). When the panel picture came back, no Joe.

... but they're keeping it quiet for now.

I posted earlier that she should become the mod on Meet the Press because she'd be lightyears better than Chuck Todd. (He's in way over his head anyway.)

Rachel is worth whatever $$ they pay her, so it can't be about the salary. Maybe she needs to work fewer hours, but get a bigger audience on NBC the broadcast network, rather than on MSNBC the cable channel. She'd get a large, diverse audience as the moderator of Meet The Press, don't we all agree?

but Comcast and the NBC bigshots don't want MTP to become an actual informative show. As Darth Cheney said, it's where republicons go to begin catapulting the propaganda. That hasn't changed since the Russert era when he said that.

Maddow would not let republicons on to spew their garbage unchallenged. So that will never happen.

which is pretty understandable. I definitely faced that when I was at the end of my military attorney career.

Sometimes I feel guilty about taking a couple of years off after retirement (retirement plus disability is pretty generous), but most of the time I just enjoy extended do nothing time and freedom. We don't lament on our deathbed not having put more hours in at the office.

If Rachel steps down from her show, I will be bereft. I really want her to do what's best for her, even if it's that, but I will miss her SOOOOOOO much! I really want her to do what makes her happy, but it would be a very tough adjustment.

She doesn't do he said, he said. Some people have said she can be tedious sometimes, but she does bring out a kernel of truth that turns out to be very important. Of course also my friend who is hard of hearing says she talks much too fast to fit in all those facts.

She doesn't do a lot of interviews because they often have nothing new to a story and just churn what's already been reported.

The falsehoods that they're pushing are repeated over and over, in many different ways. It imprints on the mind. That's one of the reasons Fox started by offering their channel for free in many cable markets (and to certain demographics). It tells the mind it must be important, the same opinions, not really facts but presented as facts, all day. Now it's Trump is real winner, election corrupt, Democrats evil. Think of fundamental evangelists repeating over and over the same phrases. Even an agnostic driving home from a funeral finds themselves humming one of the songs and you think "where did that come from?"

I'm not implying Rachel is doing THAT, but she does know some facts have to be repeated for emphasis as a way of pointing out something important, especially in this media world of both-siderism.
