3 brothers die after passing out from fumes in manure pit

ST. HENRY, Ohio — Three brothers who were trapped in a manure pit on their livestock farm after being overcome by fumes have died, authorities said.

Rescue crews found the men unconscious and unable to move in the pit Tuesday afternoon. They were fixing a manure pump before they passed out from the fumes, St. Henry fire Chief Matt Lefeld said.

Authorities identified the victims as Gary, Todd and Brad Wuebker. All three were taken to area hospitals and later pronounced dead. .......(more)

the "spotter(s)" above go down to rescue someone in trouble and they themselves are overcome.

This is a tragic accident.

Are a safety attendant or observer attempting to rescue a person in trouble without the proper equipment or training.

We have lots of designated confined spaces at work that require entry clearances/permits, oxygen level testing, etc.

"Brad Wuebker, 35, Todd Wuebker, 31, and Gary Wuebker, 37, died Tuesday at hospitals after rescue crews responded to their family farm in St. Henry and found them under water in the pit and requested a dive team, WHIO reported."

"The three brothers were “full-time” farmers who owned and operated GBT Wuebker Farms LLC with their father, according to their obituaries."

Factory farming is the inhumane, environmentally destructive practice of keeping animals in completely unnatural, abusive, restricted and concentrated conditions.

People who free range chickens don't tell you what happens to make chicks. They are tossed alive into shredding machine. Their last moments are filled with terror. Same goes with livestock. Once their usefulness is over with, off they go to a butchery. A apt name.
