Today would have been my father's 98th birthday.

He WW2 vet like most his age.

Glad he is not here to see the mess the country is in.

I am at peace now.

The VA didn't give him the best medical care.

I tried to get him away to a private Dr.

He needed a portable oxygen tank.

Bad heart.

He could have lived better and longer.

Just got his 100 percent disability to in May of that year.

5. Dealing with the VA can be a frustrating, exhausting experience, as I well know.

In some parts of the country, they are amazing. In others, amazingly awful.

6. I tried to save him.

My mother was in the nursing home already.

I was busy.

Just a little portable oxygen tank.

I did the best I could.

My father was hard headed.

And he had great private insurance.

3. Mine would have been 97 today. He was my step-dad for 43 years, but my Dad nonetheless.

He died this past February from complications of covid.
