OAC: 'I didn't think I was just going to be killed' during Capitol riot

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) in an interview with CNN that aired Monday evening said she had fears of being raped during the Jan. 6 insurrection in which she recounted people banging on her office doors while she hid.

"I didn't think that I was just going to be killed," Ocasio-Cortez told CNN anchor Dana Bash. "I thought other things were going to happen to me as well."

The New York Democrat said that "white supremacy and patriarchy are very linked in a lot of ways," and remarked on what she sees as the sexualization of violence.

When asked by Bash to clarify if she was worried that she would be raped during the storming of the Capitol, Ocasio-Cortez responded, "Yeah, yeah, I thought I was."

after all, once an incel has sullied a woman, she's of no use.

That mob would have raped and killed more than one member of congress had they had enough time. That's what unruly mobs do.

They are all criminals. They all need real jail time and real punitive fines, not this time served and $500 crap. They committed insurrection and open rebellion. They are the enemy within.

Honestly, that was my worry for female members of congress too, should the mob have got hold of them.

If that mob had managed to capture members of congress, especially Democratic women...I don't even like to think about it and yes, I do think they'd have raped them and probably killed them as well.

10. If you look at history and sieges, she's 100% correct.

If it’s an unorganized militia that is involved, they’re even worse. Its bad for men, and it sometimes happens to them too, but it almost universally happens to women when law and order breaks down.

Humans are absolutely messed up in the head, and without laws, we turn into savage monsters. Everyone in congress would have all been brutally murdered in a gruesome display, much like those we saw in Iraq and Afghanistan. We’re so lucky it wasn’t worse than it was.
