Yah, I'll say some sort of prayer for him. Something in the Bible I read about not tempting God seems appropriate to his situation. If the idiot lives he'll probably contribute it to his prayer chain.

(16,925 posts)A storm descends on a small town, and the downpour soon turns into a flood. As the waters rise, the local preacher kneels in prayer on the church porch, surrounded by water. By and by, one of the townsfolk comes up the street in a canoe.
"Better get in, Preacher. The waters are rising fast."
"No," says the preacher. "I have faith in the Lord. He will save me."
Still the waters rise. Now the preacher is up on the balcony, wringing his hands in supplication, when another guy zips up in a motorboat.
"Come on, Preacher. We need to get you out of here. The levee's gonna break any minute."
Once again, the preacher is unmoved. "I shall remain. The Lord will see me through."
After a while the levee breaks, and the flood rushes over the church until only the steeple remains above water. The preacher is up there, clinging to the cross, when a helicopter descends out of the clouds, and a state trooper calls down to him through a megaphone.
"Grab the ladder, Preacher. This is your last chance."
Once again, the preacher insists the Lord will deliver him.
And, predictably, he drowns.
A pious man, the preacher goes to heaven. After a while he gets an interview with God, and he asks the Almighty, "Lord, I had unwavering faith in you. Why didn't you deliver me from that flood?"
God shakes his head. "What did you want from me? I sent you two boats and a helicopter."
Exactly the story that came to my mind

(14,854 posts)that he didn't stay his ass at home and rely on prayer to heal him from Covid. Fucking hypocrite. Is it any wonder he's terrified to meet his Lord and Savior face to face?
Meanwhile, my mother can't get a simple outpatient pain relieving surgery done, because of stupid fuckers like this jamming up the hospitals. I'm glad he's suffering. I hope it hurts like hell.

(13,493 posts)I went to read that man's facebook page, and it was difficult. The hubris is hard to get past, but seeing that he truly is suffering and was a part of creating his own suffering.... Ugh.
I do hope he recovers and becomes a STRONG VOICE in helping people in his community vaccinate. Thus saving lives through his mistake. Because that is the only just or good outcome.

I'm not wishing him the best. It would just reinforce his antivax position and his followers delusions.

(13,493 posts)and I'm beyond frustrated with the antivaxxers.
But I can't wish death on someone. His ignorance was born and fostered by misinformation and mobs run amok.
And I said only good outcome is if he recovers and CHANGES his tune to do some good.
Going on a ventilator is not some easy thing he can pass off as not a big deal (if he survives.) If he goes on a ventilator his chances of survival are not great. This man has a lot to answer for.

(26,579 posts)I spent some time on his Facebook page, and I don't see any possibility of it.

A sudden turn of events with the China virus. Well, thats a shame. And now he wants prayer warriors to bail out his sorry ass. No expressions of regret, no regard for the other people he may have infected, no assumption of responsibility for his idiotic choices. Youre on your own, Pressley.
