New Covid rules this school year in my Maine district.

Masks and 3 feet of distancing inside, plus regular sanitizing/hand washing/disinfecting.
No masks or distancing needed outside.

I don’t understand why we worked harder to stay safe with the less easily transmitted Covid than we are with Delta. I appreciate that masks are non-negotiable here and that our community has a highish vax rate, but in my pre-school to grade 8 building most kids will not have had a shot.

To be fair my classes were small enough that I was able to keep 6 feet but they won't be now. I have a windowless small room in which I will have 29 in my largest class. I realistically can't even do 3 feet. Oh, and masks will be optional though I think that might be changing.
