1. He continues to say - a close second was senior US leaders

Who lied to us and said it was going well. Every project was doomed to failure.

The next war will be the same because our young hundreds year old country cannot comprehend how entrenched the beliefs of a region thousands of years in the making prevent them from evolving to a democracy.

On the other hand there are many RWers who would love to have us devolve into a corrupt autocracy, have tried and will try again.

I just weep for the woman and children as well as the men of Afghanistan who trusted us and likely saved thousands of American lives.

They will all be enslaved, tortured, and slaughtered.

2. If we ever have accountability beginning with GW Bush/Cheney? Then

we begin a trend toward avoiding more disastrous wars for profit over people.

It is tragic but who pays the price here so far? No one at the top. Contractors are all paid, taxpayers foot the bill. The Afghan people have what kind of future? I hate to think about it.
