"SNIP....

“A new state law will soon let most Texans carry handguns in public without going through training or having to get permits,” the Texas Tribune reports.

“But some Texas law enforcement officers fear that removing restrictions to carrying handguns could increase crime rates while putting officers and residents in danger.”

Said  James McLaughlin, head of the Texas Police Chiefs Association: “I don’t know what it’s a solution to. I don’t know what the problem was to start with.”

Sure, the rationale for permit-less open carry is sketchy at best, and puts everyone in danger. And without blind GQP support from LEOs and police unions, that kind of law would be much less likely to happen. Oh well, thoughts and prayers for all of us idiot humans.

Second Amendment obsessives were upset that they couldn't carry their shootin' arns anywhere they pleased without being hassled by folks who were understandably nervous that such high-strung people were carrying instant death on their hips. Now they can strut around with their sidearms and nobody can say nothin' to 'em! Also, I'm sure there is some pwnage of liberals and soy boys in there somewhere.

Sorry you and your law enforcement guys get to deal with the fallout, Mr. McLaughlin. I hope not too many of them are shot at in the days and months to come.

By the state removing the financial and adminstrative barriers to entry, more black and brown people will be able to legally carry a firearm and that terrifies them.
