(1,835 posts)Perhaps you should run for President if you know better than him. Now is the time to stand behind President Biden. Not throw him under the bus like you just did.

(6,477 posts)I think Biden and his people fucked up here and there should be some accountability. That's my reasonable assessment of the situation as a firm Democrat for 30 fucking years. Stop accusing people who disagree with you of being right wingers.

(8,922 posts)"Fucked up"? I disagree with you. Biden and his people have managed the withdrawal as well as possible as best as I can see. I don't disagree that our own people should be accountable for what they do, but I haven't seen anything yet for Biden and his people to be held accountable for. They seem to be right on top of the situation from the time it started. They have the airport, they have our embassy personnel, and they are moving Afghans out. They had contingency troops ready to come in when the Afghan fighters laid down and refused to fight. I don't know what else they can do they aren't already doing.

(1,835 posts)I don't think you're a right winger at all. Just now is the time to stand behind President Biden because we have a right-wing fascist coup attempt in the works. Donny already issued a statement calling for President Biden to resign and for him to be put back in charge due to this. We honestly cannot afford this until the coup attempt is put down and Democracy is saved. In normal times, criticism would be just fine.
Just never forget the existential battle we are fighting and let's not do anything to help the evildoers win.

(32,626 posts)could be better that we got out fast. And who is Biden going to order to go? And which decision was "poor"?

(6,477 posts)I think he made a mistake in following the line of reasoning given by the Afghan government. that's not "bashing." It's assessing.

(15,124 posts)authority---to cooperate in evacuating our allies a couple months ago. That's not "on him". It was their decision to make and they made it.
And, now, the Afghani military no longer exists; not because they were defeated but because they REFUSED TO FIGHT. Can you name one political or military official who predicted that to happen as soon as it did?
Hindsight is always 20/20, but is seldom useful.
