If you mean beating women for showing their ankles, throwing gay men from rooftops, practicing Sharia Law which dictates "HOW" a man may/must beat his wife, keeping women uneducated and pregnant, beating men on the streets for inappropriate beards, burning down churches and crucifying religious leaders...

If that sounds awful... then yeah, they're pretty awful.

The whole thing was just a huge disaster in slow motion. There is some blame to be laid on the feeble and corrupt army, which seemingly laid back and let others protect them for years, and then gave up without any fight at all.

I recall the news reports so many years ago of the Afghan girls having their first chance to go to school. They were as heart-warming as the return of oppression is heart-wrenching.
