Is it the voter suppression?
The fear-mongering over the Southern Border?
Their do-nothing approach to fighting COVID?
Their feigned concern for the women and children of Afghanistan?
I wondered the same back in 2016 and couldn't come up with anything then either.

(14,959 posts)Their base revels in their hatred of the other, in this case Democrats, and elected Repukes cater to that appetite. It's not policy victories they supply, just emotional gratification.

(6,390 posts)When you do something, then you have to defend it from the critics. It's why they couldn't get jack shit done when they held Congress and the Executive. But its very easy to criticize, condemn, bullshit, etc. someone else's work while not doing anything your self. That's how they rally up their blind followers.
Oh and when things do go their way, even if its from a Democrat, they take the credit.

(54,358 posts)They have managed to pass voting rights suppression targeting Democrats is many states. They have had state legislatures pass restrictions on abortion rights, some to the point of being de-facto prohibition. Many of their governors have gotten laws passed or made decrees forbidding or restriction measure to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
To us, these are reason NOT to vote for them, but to their fanatic base, who listen ONLY to Fox Noise, National Hate Radio, or local "Christian" preachers, this makes them heroes. They are not looking at the world from the same reality we are.
In the former East Germany, in the lonely hearts ads, hardline SED (Socialist Unity Party of Germany, the ruling Stalinists of Ulbricht and Honecker) party loyalists looking for partners always included the phrase "ML Weltanschauung," or "Marxist-Leninist view of the world," meaning they wanted partners who held the exact same political views they did. Their secret police, the Stasi, had so many people working for them, I'm sure plenty of these ads actually led to eventual partnerships.
