Voted no on the recall and didn't select a successor. Just an FYI there were several candidates that were Dems. I hope I did it right.

(5,328 posts)I am probably the only one in my area voting no on the recall.

There has to be something I'm missing. Leaving question number two blank seems foolish to me.

So, all the eggs in the Newsom basket.
I voted for the Democratic college student. Just for fun, since no one apparently wants to give a shit about question two.
I really hope this strategy doesn't bite us right in the ass. Elder's going to get a large chunk of Republican votes.

(938 posts)That there were Dems on the ticket. I have been reading around here that they were supposedly all repukes and to vote no and not select a successor???

(2,244 posts)Were just focusing on no on the recall, leaving the rest blank, Newsom told Politico.
On social media, The California Democratic Party kept its instructions to voters short and simple:
In many parts of California, ballots are already on their way for the recall election, the party wrote. Remember: Vote NO on the first question, and leave the second question blank. It's up to all of us to #StopTheRepublicanRecall and stand with Governor Gavin Newsom.

I sure hope we're doing the right thing here. I also thought there were no Dems on the ballot, but I received my ballot yesterday and there are. They only come into play if yes votes on part 1 outnumber no votes. Hoping that part 1 will be a resounding no and part 2 won't matter.

(9,696 posts)I saw a poll that had the top vote getter at 23% (larry elder), the second highest vote getter was "nobody" at 20% so maybe that's the strategy. There is no unified strategy from the dems on who to vote for so the vote for a dem will not matter.
I've voted no, haven't selected anyone. I sent an email to cadem asking if they recommended voting for "nobody" and they have not responded yet.
Either way, I'll probably drop it on the box tomorrow.
