I mean, what the hell?
The woman wasn't robbed, it looks like it was a gang hit.
But what "gang" (if any!) did this woman belong to?
Great-grandmother fatally shot in brazen Chicago attack caught on video
CHICAGO (WLS) - A 70-year-old great-grandmother died after she was shot multiple times while waiting in her car outside a Chicago deli. Police have no suspects in custody.
Yvonne Ruzich, 70, and her stepson had a weekly routine. A couple of days per week, she would come to work before 5 a.m. at the Baltimore Food store in Chicago. Her stepson would pull up next to her to chat and make sure she got inside OK.
Monday started off no different until unknown gunmen fatally shot Ruzich in front of her stepson.
Security video shows Ruzich and her stepsons vehicles when a third car pulls up and two people get out. The suspects head over to Ruzich, point a gun at her and start shooting.
Ruzich managed to drive away then crashed down the block, where the gunman caught up with her and shot her several more times, according to her boyfriend. Police say she was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and died a short time later.

A gang initiation.
Given there were two people, I'm leaning more towards the first one. You kill the person who owes you money, you won't get the money. You kill someone close to the person who owes money, you might be getting that money.
There's always a potential inheritance.

Who knows why?
Senseless violence like driving through a public park shooting people from a car. I can't explain it other than insanity.

(32,078 posts)My money's on the stepson being the one involved in gang issues, and she was killed to send a message to him or whoever else is involved, if not him. (Or, it was a mistaken identity on he shooters' part.) It's not beyond the realm of possibility that a customer or co-worker was taking revenge for some slight, either.
