5. Oops...

Just the other day, we technically-engineered and then expensively-built this concrete-and-steel bridge over a teeny-tiny rambling creek...

Now say hello to 'Mother Nature'

8. We had a major wash out across four lanes.

The highway had been built on top of the filled, regraded creek. The wash out happened when our last hurricane came through, I can't remember if it was Florence or Michael. The was no reliable and safe way to get to and from town.

Anyway, it was a major problem when the creek became a significant waterway. I was so happy to see they gave Mother Nature her way and built a very nice double bridge over the water which is now big enough to motor fishing boats through. The force of water is often underestimated. ❤
