California Gubernatorial Recall - Newsome and Democrats Should Run Ads Featuring Texas and Florida
California has a larger population and more densely populated areas than either Florida or Texas. Yet, looking at the 7 day averages, Florida and Texas are doing far worse in preventing COVID-19 cases and deaths than California with the biggest difference being how DeSantis and Abbott are actively prohibited efforts to prevent the spread of COVID such as banning mask requirements or proof of vaccination requirements for travel.

Yet, thanks to California, a tiny minority of the CA electorate can trigger a recall and even smaller percentage of the population could elect a new Governor among a collection of Republicans who are promising to terminate executive orders requiring masks. Worse, if the recall is successful, this will reinforce the Republican technique of using these expensive, tax payer funded anti-democratic special election recalls.
