I can also recall where they have reacted very quickly to current events. There was event that occurred on a Tuesday and by Wednesday night the entire episode revolved around the event. I was impressed that they could pull it together so quickly.

Like I think the event was Trump actually winning and they didn't expect it. So they had to rewrite everyone and redo it fast.

They make fun of everyone. It's just satire really which is fine. They mocked everyone except really Obama didn't get too much shit on that show.

have been around for a long time. They got louder and bolder decades ago with the claim that vaccines cause autism.

As more vaccines got added to the mix that children need before starting school, parents began questioning the need for and safety of so many shots. A lot of people turned to a "natural" approach to disease prevention and exposure. Republican politicians have validated and appealed to that group for political and personal financial reasons, but the anti vax movement was around long before covid.
