I want to know why parents do not want to protect
their children from illness--severe illness or even death. Just makes no sense. No sense at all

Cobb County, Georgia in one photo. A Black father with a handmade sign supporting masking school kids. A white woman with a professionally made sign against masks- wonder where she got it? Who is funding all these school protests over protecting children in a raging pandemic?

(26,068 posts)And, many that do have kids in private schools. They all have these professional signs, so they definitely are being astroturfed. The funniest thing is most PRIVATE schools in FL (including Catholic ones) mandate masks in schools, no excuse. Including the one DeSantis' sprogs go to.

(40,207 posts)Unmasked angry face with a professionally printed sign and a megaphone. Uck!
Look at the man. He is wearing a mask and his handmade sign says: We ask for Masks!
It is obvious who the good person is in this photo.

One was a union leader on cnn explaining there were religious reasons for not enforcing vaxes and masks. Also a woman I know told me point blank the religious need to keep rejecting anything libruls demand in order to uphold their status in their religious community.
Same goes for the environment: If they're not rapture nuts, they're still saying gawd will do what he wants with us and the planet and it's not our responsibility to do anything to protect our planet or ourselves. Total surrender to "his will."
I still say we have a choice: it's us or gawd. We can't go on like this. We've gotta throw gawd out and grow the eff up and take responsibility for ourselves. Gawd's the reason for afghanistan, and most other huge problems. He's gotta go. Yesterday. No more fairy tales.

(88 posts)Trying to remember those far off Sundays in Bible class. Seems to me that the Bible has at least one passage where mankind was made the steward of the land. In fact, that 's the excuse many have made over the centuries as to why they can rape the land, since they have "dominion" over it.
Last time I looked a steward is responsible to the owner for how he or she has cared for the responsibility placed upon them. Any cop-out from the fundy Right about how they are not responsible for their (in)actions should be met with that reminder, forcefully.

(16,334 posts)I mean this is someone I've known a very long time. And somehow she is anti-mask and thinks Covid is no big deal even though she and her entire family have had it. This pandemic has been very trying on our relationship. She's not an idiot but she really is wrapped up in the Cobb County stereotype.

(88 posts)Why the hate and anger. They look like the same people from jan 6. It seems all these "mandate" protests are finance by the right wing for politican purposes. No matter where you go, these people have ready made sighs as if the whole thing was planned. I also think they finance the counter protester as well. Why the anger, the hate. Some guy in California got stabbed! This is about our health and safety!! But then they were the same ones when the 10 commandments was an issue, abortion clinics, the Affordable Care Act. Why do they need to resort to violence! They're Christians, right?
