(6,536 posts)I keep saying the best way to get these nutbags to mask and vax is to tell them that COVID turns them gay. Too bad it doesn't actually make them sterile, though.

(6,443 posts)Since it was clear then that the AIDS virus wasnt a respiratory illness. So of course when confronted with an actual lethal respiratory illness they proudly refuse to wear masks when doing so would save lives. Consistently ignorant and bereft of compassion for their fellow humans they are.

(15,058 posts)They wore masks to prevent getting AIDS. Maybe they are wearing condoms now.

(3,491 posts)They wore masks back then to show they were against homosexuals.
They refuse to wear masks now to show that they are against liberals/socialism/common sense/Joe Biden/etc

(633 posts)They were fine with it back then because they didn't have Trump, RW media, Republicans in Congress downplaying it or telling you 24/7 that wearing a mask is evil!

(5,721 posts)Back then, they were masking TO TRIGGER TEH LIBZ.
Today, they're refusing to mask TO TRIGGER TEH LIBZ.
Totally consistent!!

(111,122 posts)(Never mind Jesus never said anything bad about them and if there are hemophiliac kids and accident victims who needed blood who got it, just ignore them, they'll go away soon)
And just look at the little kiddies with their masks on. So much for oppressing the kids.

(3,064 posts)He was a Rep.from Texas and he was so freaked out about catching AIDS he had the hotel staff bring him extra shower caps for his feet and hands to cover them while he took a shower. Not sure of the exact time this happened but I believe AIDS was known to be a blood borne pathogen. He served from 1979 to 1987.
But he was shitting bricks about having to shower with publicly treated potable water in San Francisco.
In another incident after his Congressional career he ran for the Republican nomination for governor and was beaten by the eventual winner, Bill Clements. Loeffler ran an ad that said he was so tough that he played a high school football game with two broken wrists. The media had a field day with it, saying maybe Loeffler was being less than truthful and if he was truthful that was an awfully stupid thing to do.
I recall our beloved Molly Ivins having a lot to say about both stories and when Molly really hit her stride on stories the result would often be uncontrollable laughter along with possibly of falling to the floor over her wit.
I really miss her.

(3,064 posts)At least we have Ann's daughter Cecile continuing the good fight. And there are a lot of progressive women in Texas who will soon be winning contests instead of making them close.
There's a blue wave fixing to hit Texas, if not in 2024 then maybe 2022 with a defeat of The Dotard toadie Greg Abbott.

(37,449 posts)if we don't all vote in the upcoming mid-terms that could change. If the Senate including frick and frack don't vote in the voting bill then things could get tough. People might want to imagine McCarthy as speaker.
