A Congressperson calls the President a "piece of shit".
As our country and our troops are under siege in an enemy country, all they can do is criticize.
They no longer care for our country or our democracy. They are tightly wrapped in a bubble of hatred and lust for power. They simply cannot be trusted.
They take the side of dictators and terrorists over our own country, if it embarrasses the opposing Party or their leader. It is unprecedented in American history.

(17,901 posts)Mom and dad had one and a movie camera. No idea where they ended up. It seemed nearly every one of our home movies had a section of me and my sibs fooling around with the camera. (21,103 posts)Dusted if off and used a little wd 40. Then I actually found a bulb for it and played our families old 8 mm and super 8m. On my Mothers 90s birthday party I played those movies. Everyone was enthralled by seeing how time was in the late 50s to early 70s. The bulb burned out and I tried online to find a bulb to no avail. My mother had dementia and she so brightened up that day watching her memories.
Some smart person could make a projector modernized to play these films and make a lot of money.

(22,243 posts)At one time we had a wealth of family movies from the 1930s. They were in his attic and pretty much messed up. One of my sisters tried to get them converted to DVD but there was just no way.
My mom's house burned and so much of our family pictures were in that house. We have very little left except for his photo albums and my great aunt's photos.

(19,190 posts)of government departments to reconfigure and reinstate after 45's clear-cutting of government.
On top of that they had no transition period usually afforded incoming new administrations, because we had a five year old malignant narcissist refusing to cooperate.
45 had four years to completely destroy our government, which has never run like clockwork in the best of times.
I think President Biden is doing a stellar job, considering the mess he was handed. Yes, there are still enemies of the state to sweep up and throw out. Yes, there are still many of 45's policies and signing statements to reverse, and that's going to take more time.
That we have a functioning government again, considering what 45 did, and didn't do, to our country is nothing short of amazing, in my estimation.
I've already forgotten about Afghanistan, and once we protect voting rights, I'll be an extremely happy guy.

Getting rid of all of Trump's flying monkeys should be one of Biden's top priorities.
Of course, he is a teeny bit busy at the moment, what with combatting an unprecedented global pandemic, grappling with the disastrous effects of climate change, and trying to save the Free World from the evil forces (Republi-Putins) who are trying to destroy democracy.

(3,240 posts)It was one of our local right-wing radio morons spouting the democracy killing idea that changing presidents so often is a bad idea when it comes to foreign policy. This moron was literally complaining on his radio show that having elections every 4 years weakens America, and that having a president for no more than 8 years is a bad thing when other countries get to keep their leader longer.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
