Among other things, he said "Your monster will want to watch bad, evil, bloody, and horrifying programming. Let him watch the news."

I generally have pandora going when I'm doing chores. But I also had to focus on bucket load of neglected paper work which I needed to focus like a laser before I got started on scrubbing down the kitchen.

But I found myself streaming MNSBC to get some details of the Magat Bomber after learning on DU this was a live situation.

But it wasn't long before they cut right over to Afghanistan, then I quickly tuned into a different app.

It just so happened to be the weather channel.

So weird, I just let it stream while scrubbing out the stove, and let tropical storms Grace and Henri change the subject to give my emotions something I could cope with in the interim. Like some sort of soma drug. (referencing Huxley's Brave New World&quot

.

Just started Season 3 (I think there's seven) - on Prime Video.

Also rewatching Law and Order, and Mike Hammer, both also on Prime.

I peek in here, check news sources from a dozen or so countries for about an hour a day, then cut myself off.

Odd thing, I thought with all the isolating going on I'd spend more time on Facebook, but the opposite happened. I log in, check for messages, a quick scroll around and outta there in less than 1/2 an hour.

Seems to me I had a better life b4 the internets, and when telephones were fastened to the wall -

Yeah, I'm an old fart - we got our first TV when I was about 11, an old B&W from the estate of a dead relative that no other family members wanted - they already had color . . .

BUT I WAS HAPPIER back then!

(sigh)
