The Work of Obama (and Democrats) Is About To Benefit Humanity Again
According to Axios, health insurance companies are going to start denying coverage for care for covid treatment for the unvaccinated (see: https://www.axios.com/covid-hospitalizations-bills-expensive-c7cfc2b1-bbd7-497f-9ec9-c3bd96ea8af9.html?fbclid=IwAR3DWMHaO5syYdof1ihWNyDKKrpYTz2ROKxvXboY3r5-16H0k1ZaMmwWc1E)
Coronavirus patients who end up hospitalized the vast majority of whom are unvaccinated are increasingly likely to be on the hook for their medical bills, according to a new KFF analysis.
Why can't insurance companies just pass the cost onto the premiums? Because of the ACA. The average cost of a hospitalized covid patient well exceeds the individual and family out-of-pocket maximums dictated by the ACA. Additionally, insurance companies cannot arbitrarily raise the premiums of plans year-to-year. The cost of Covid treatments for the severe cases would cause huge spikes in premiums.
So the insurance companies are going to do what the federal government can't because of money. Ironically, it is federal law that is driving this. My only hope is that this precludes people who can't get vaccinated for medical reasons. They should not be on the hook for coverage. Congress may need to intervene for this particular group.
So expect the idiots to soon get vaccinated or face bankruptcy and lose everything they have.
