Spanish village tells visitors who complain about the mess to not go there
After numerous visitors called officials of Ribadesella, Spain, to complain about the mess left behind by various animals, the village had one response...dont come here.
Last week we had a lady who called us three or four times over a rooster that was waking her up at 5 a.m., said Ramón Canal, Ribadesellas mayor. She told us that we had to do something.
Town officials wanted the complaining public to know how they really felt and came up with a tongue-in-cheek poster campaign that asks the urban tourists to assume all the risks that come with life in the rural area, according to The Guardian.
Here we have church bells that ring out regularly, roosters that crow early in the morning and herds of livestock that live nearby and at times carry cowbells that also make noise, the post reads.
If you cant handle all this, you may not be in the right place,

(21,055 posts)There was this church bell that went off every hour and roosters crowing. Whenever we fell asleep that damn gong would go off hourly. The next morning when we checked out we asked the desk clerk why dont they limit the hours of the gong. He said they have complaints all the time. I looked the hotel up recently and it was closed because people werent staying there because of that church bell.

(15,147 posts)...I'd think a loud church bell in the wee hours of the morning would be unwelcome, not just "local color" that they were fond actually fond of.
Then again, maybe that hotel is closer to the bell than any place else where people are trying to sleep.
When I visit my sister in Ohio, I'm occasionally awakened at unholy times by loud train horns that go off at night in the area.
