17. Yes. There is a contingent I have noticed who have smugly

denigrated any caution about this since the beginning.

They called us doomers when we said the lifting of the mask recommendations was premature and obviously stupid.

They accused us of being "armchair epidemiologists" when we followed the spreads of the new strains.

When we said the pandemic was not over last summer and this past spring, they said we had Stockholm Syndrome and secretly loved the pandemic.

I remember a particularly vicious pile-on at the beginning when I said the projected number of 60,000 deaths that IHME was peddling was absurd. They called me a ghoul and a death monger.

And at each turn they spew this stuff as if more cautious people are begging for ridicule and way beneath the intelligence of the ridiculers.

They have NEVER YET been right. And yet their smug assholery persists.

mingle, I knew it was a load of crap because variants were coming. One would think CDC should have known that too.
Based on this genius advice, many vaccinated people decided they are immune and can just run around as if pandemic was over.
Turns out breakthrough infections aren't as rare as hens teeth.
Delta is breaking through the vaccines.
Vaccinated people are perfectly capable of spreading the virus.
It should be multiple mitigation strategies, not just vaccinations, but masks, social distancing and so on.
Instead we are only counting on the vaccines, and there is only so much a vaccine can do. Especially considering it was designed against the original virus and not the variant.

24. Yes, vaccinated people think they're immune

because the CDC said they didn't have to wear a mask. My Mom (92) is one of them, it takes a lot of english
words to get her to put a mask on for the grocery store. Beginning to think there's left over Qrump loyalists
in the CDC who are busy playing politics instead of good medicine. Wish Biden could force the CDC to come
out with a mask mandate for everyone standing on U.S. soil. And I don't care if your county has no active
virus cases, you don't know how many you avoided by wearing masks.

I don't know how to do it, but should we at DU start a national online petition for everyone to be masked?????

Lulled into a false sense of security after vaccination. Realized slowly we aren't out of the woods. Shame. Elderly family friends, vaccinated previous health issues not doing good.
In the beginning I had a call circle and we reminded each other daily of the rules, risks, deep discussions on what ifs, not making own rules and sticking to health officials guidance. After vaccination the circle has broken, some retired, went back to work. Easy to fool yourself now, truly scary. I am not, have not attended large events, indoor dining. I do not enter any enclosed space w people without a mask.
