Can you imagine if our parents had acted like these anti-vaxers back when

the Polio vaccine came out? Just think what would have happened if the same group of adults now that are behaving like petulant toddlers were around back then?

Polio was eradicated because the adults in the room took charge and did the right thing for themselves, their families and their communities. If anyone behaved the way so many right winged mutations are now behaving they would have been shunned until they straightened their act up.

These loons say, "no" because they feel it brings them some kind of power. They can't think beyond the immediate gratification they get from behaving badly and getting attention because of it.

Some people feel powerful by building things. Others feel power by ruining things. Welcome to the new GQP party. I hope we can survive them.

he spent a few years fighting Hitler and had no regrets. And my brothers and I were first in line for the polio shot. And other shots after that.

It's bullshit that being anti vax is conservative. It's just being a spoiled whiny child

My mother was a physical therapist, and a lot of her patients were polio patients. There was no question if I was getting a vaccine

I was born in 1958 and I remember getting the vaccine. Maybe I am wrong and it was just me and my brother getting it. Whatever, I can't imagine my parents saying, "No, it's not tested enough" or just "No, I want to be a jackass and this will do the job"

I just got the sugar cube at a Dr. Appointment. Don't remember anything where the whole family went.

There was a lot that I wasn't able to do. Once my pediatrician had the vaccine, my mother couldn't wait to take both my sister and me to get the shot.

Kids gladly lined up in school hallways to get the vaccinations. Parents were thankful.

That was in the early '60s. It sticks in my mind since the nurse giving the shots took notice of my name and asked me if I was related to another nurse she was friends with - and that was my Dad's aunt.

I can also remember getting a shot in high school - 1970? That sticks in my mind since the friend I went with passed out and I ran down the hall back to my class. A lot of kids got shots while in school and there was no controversy, that's just what you did...
