So I am in an uncomfortable position for me of having to ask. My wife can't ask because she has some long term emotional issues.
Brother-in-law is not a flaming RW crazy, but he is definitely RW. I believe he has stated that he will not get vaccinated in the past.
Just blowing off steam.

(31,097 posts)yesterday, so thanks for reminding me.
I know this will be very easy to say and maybe next to impossible to do, beleive me ( if you only knew) but if not vaccinated they cant come in the house, right?
I came across this a couple times myself and I was not always successful in my "line in the sand."

The health and well being of you and yours is top priority...

(1,654 posts)Just in case. It might offend them but you have to protect yourself. As much as we want human contact, and RWs emphasize taking responsibility, we have to try to maintain relationships at the same time we take care of ourselves. If it's nice weather you can visit outside

(33,915 posts)not welcome without being vaccinated, unless he is wearing a mask all of the time.
That's how we handled daughter's boyfriend (albeit before things got as bad as they are now - our answer now might have been "no way," even with a mask). (He's now vaccinated.)

(792 posts)..much less in your home! You have the right, a moral obligation, and an obligation to our collective public health, to demand full proof of vaccination.
Until the federal mandate is in place, we have the power to create a social mandate by performing intervention on our family members who do not yet understand the consequences of putting off their vaccination.
We've used the carrot, now it's time to break out the stick.

(3,524 posts)No vaccination, then help them find a Motel-6 where they can stay - and second question is why are they coming if one of them has not been vaccinated.
Youre potentially bringing a loaded gun into your house, with a person that on the fence about using it. No brainer to me.
If he hasnt been vaccinated, has the virus and then passes it to you and your wife, (hopefully you wont get deadly sick), then maybe an apology later from him - will that be satisfactory?
If in the same situation, you or wife get sick - then maybe a lifetime of recriminations of what you should have done.

(38,264 posts)I have a tendency to tell people what I think, especially if they ask.
I used to keep two bottles of champagne in the fridge -- one to celebrate Trump's removal from office, one his funeral.
I still have one. My RW family knows that.
When I was a child religion and politics were never taboo subjects in our family. Every family gathering was Fight Club. Nobody went home without wounds.
Nevertheless most of them kept coming back for more.
Only the RW stay home, same as any war.
Tell me again, what were those troubles Rush Limbaugh had with his asshole?
Maybe I'm the sort who would build Plexiglas enclosures for the unvaccinated.
My wife and I have never allowed anyone to smoke in our house, or bring guns into our house, and we've forced various nasty people to leave our house, so maybe dealing with anti-vaxxers doesn't seem all that complicated.
