CNN has always been about the war grift.

Think about it: what major event seriously elevated CNN as a major cable network?

It was the first Gulf War. Sure, they had been aided by Reagan's assassination attempt and the fall of the Berlin Wall, but on the whole, their ability to cover the Gulf War 24 hours straight allowed for a ratings boon.

And they haven't looked back.

The problem is, CNN is not a trustworthy news organization just reporting the news. Even in the early 90s, during that Gulf War, they were manipulating coverage for ratings:

So, why should anyone be surprised they would dig in and push back against withdrawal? They want perpetual war because it's the one thing that gives people pause and forces them to watch.

It was that way during the Gulf War.

It certainly was that way when Clinton dropped bombs on Iraq.

It was absolutely that way after 9/11 and the build up to the Iraq War and the continued conflict in Afghanistan.

Same as it ever was.

2. MSM and Cable Noise in particular

are about Infotainment. It is "24/7 Drama Breaking News" to fill airtime between ads for drugs we never knew we needed. I stopped taking them seriously long, long ago and simply will not watch any of them. I get my news online or from foreign sources such as BBC, DW, France 24 and NHK along with PBS and NPR.

war themed musical intro to their sections on the Gulf War. It blew my mind. The degradation of the news has been going on for a long time.

That's the set narrative they follow thru mainstream media.

MSNBC pushes the same narrative for the same Corporate $$$$.

Trump was run on a 24/7 promotional loop for 5 solid years.

It ain't just CNN.
They're all after the same ratings, 'likes', views & $$$$.
If the narrative is trending over at CNN, MSNBC will be right next to them.

I haven't watched either since the inauguration ecause there is no reason to.
BBC, & other foreign news feeds are far more truthful in reporting.

Mostly because they don't begin with the 24/7 propaganda loop of a negative Narrative of Biden & the Democrats.

I don't recall Chris Hayes ever contradicting the stupid Tara Reade story. In fact he gave her air time that could have been spent highlighting the backdoor deals between Trump & Russia, China & Saudis.

This storyline was always there, no one in MSNBC nor CNN Media bothered to look at it.

7. The concert coverage in the context of the last week of their programming is comical

And a little disturbing. They’ve been beating the neocon war drums like it’s March 2003 all week, but tonight? It’s like their NYE coverage.

And what is the concert celebrating exactly? Reaching 160,000 cases a day again?
