(32,328 posts)Probably should have been cancelled because of weather IF NOT for Covid, but I know they hate to reschedule make-up dates, and they never want to give people their money back.

(59,474 posts)I am in NYC, but we decided not to go anywhere with 60000 people. We are vaccinated and could have gotten tested, but we opted not to get tickets. All week there has been a threat of rain and or thunderstorms and we have spent almost the entire waking day outside. Today is the first day the rain actually came. So, sitting in a hotel room, eating takeout and drinking a bottle of wine and watching the same show we would have watched in Vermont.
I have to say that I have been impressed with most people we have seen wearing masks. It is also impressive how many restaurants built temporary outdoor seating.
What I was surprised at is that the mayor did not have a contingency plan to ask some of the large museums near the entrances to the park near the great lawn. The problem telling people to seek shelter is that there are not many places that are public right there.

(4,191 posts)Im hoping the rain ends and they can finish. Anderson Cooper is having a good time despite the interruption. Kind of like New Years Eve.
