(9,998 posts)I wouldn't leave my dog alone in a car for more than 30 minutes on a 60 degree day.
I guess shopping was more important to do.
Did anyone else notice that they parked their Mercedes on the frickin' line rather than completely in the spot itself. Like they couldn't even be bothered to spend a couple extra seconds to park correctly, so the people next to them wouldn't be inconvenienced.
I am willing to bet they're complete Assholes.
They'll probably cry and whine, and get their child back, although they shouldn't.

(68,552 posts)depends on the circumstances and whether this may be a pattern of abuse or not. I believe the famous Georgia case where the toddler died was not an accident but intentional murder by the parents. The mother was not charged but I suspect she may have been involved.

(16,370 posts)I must say, though, after all the terrible stories we hear about cops all the time, it was heartening to see all those officers gathered around the car, working to get that baby out. Those guys are heroes, and so are the people, who notified them.
Cars get incredibly hot in no time, and a baby can die really fast in those conditions. Checking every 25 minutes, my ass!

(13,574 posts)a young man running up the street, and right behind him, my locksmith buddy screeching around the corner coming to help. All was fine, but for a second I thought I saw something I never want to see. I called my buddy that night and the kid left the baby in the rig with the A/C on when he went in for a second. Came out and realized he locked himself out. He went back in and called 911 right away, so it wasn't even a close call.

(18,868 posts)cars and was hit. Not hurt.
But what I saw that day was every cop turned into a father. They were amazing. They were yelling to each other that it was a 2 year old and the new officers started running.

(16,089 posts)but our solution was for one of us to stay in the car with them until they woke while the other did the shopping, either with windows open or the AC running, if it was really hot.
