Any sort of mention of the right wing news site(s) they trusted or any mention of how wrong the Twitler admin was and what influence theat played on their willful ignorance, despite all of our pleas and those from the scientific and medical communities
They only say the virus wasnt a joke, not that their sources were and dont specifically mention those sources.
I really and truly believe they should all be charged with whatever crimes could even remotely stick
Or, at the least, be sued out of existence

We should start getting our messaging out about how their sources was nothing but misinformation and how
many lives and hospitalizations it has cost this country. Can we get Rachel or 60 minutes to interview FQX noise
(and others) for a full hour.

(4,845 posts)say. Trump era proved all of it. It doesn't matter what facts or video evidence of what Trump specifically said. They then throw back a "fake news", "you are taking Trump out of context", "he is just joking" and they shrug off anything we have to say.
I am still seeing "CNN is not fact based" daily from them. Do you really think they believe anything other than what Fox News or Trump says? Actually, they are so far gone they booed Trump when he told them to get vaccinated in his rally. They are not listening to anything other than what they want to believe, and anything deviating from it is inherently "fake news" for them.

(4,845 posts)We have to somehow break the stronghold of RW raido in rural areas but I have no idea how to do it. MSM bashing Trump or GoP isn't going to change them. The people that are willing to listen already voted against Trump in the last election and they are the suburban independent/moderate Rs. The "cult" isn't going to be moved by MSM or what we say.

(58,347 posts)at his rally when he said people should get vaccinated.
They know he's been vaccinated, and he's telling them to get vaccinated, but he created a monster with his "Covid is a hoax" rhetoric that will never listen to him when he says something truthful. It's weird, but then these people are phenomenally ignorant, hate-filled, terrified of everything, and incapable of independent thought.
I know in Wisconsin that Scott Walker has done ads asking people to get vaccinated - but his fans also scream out "Bullshit!" at it.
it's a mentality that is so unattached to reality I literally don't know how to respond to it.
But maybe the best response is to just let them kill themselves - it'll cost us a boatload of money, but maybe the cost is worth it.

(4,845 posts)In other countries, the RW are arguing about whether to set the limit to 4 people gathering instead of 2. They are on broad with masking and vaccines but they just don't want it to be mandatory by the government. They are arguing about spending less on national healthcare to cut cost, rather than no national healthcare system at all.
I really wish we have a functional and non-extreme RW in this country because I can have meaningful conversation with them for the pros and cons on those issues. In some ways, I think their unreasonable position forces us to take extreme positions on the other end.
I would be fine with re-opening if people masked up and follow the limitation to slow the spread. But because GoP took the position that no restriction at all, I have to take the total lockdown position because I know a majority of them will not follow common sense and spread COVID all over the place. Just look at South Korea and they have been relatively good throughout the whole time. A spread of a 10 people group get major news courage and they contact trace and isolate everyone possibly in contact. We, on the other hand, don't even care when we get 10k infections a day.

(21,303 posts)get it on their death beds. Many still die believing that the vaccine doesn't work. A Trumper just told me that more people die who get vaccinated and that masks don't work, he knows because some quack doctor on Fox told him so.

It just defies any and all logic. If infections are high in the school district why make masks optional? I just don't get it. There is no bottom to their stupidity.

(843 posts)to be human "Blood" Alcohol Level Checkers.
If a Bar Tender sells, gives or donates one too many drinks to a patron and that patron is involved in a drunk driving accident or death, the Bar Tender can be held as an accessory to whatever "crime" the drunk commits or committed if the local Blues or D.A. decided the drunk had one too many!
This was thanks to a push by MADD.
If that's the case we need to do something similar for intentionally spreading false provided information on any media.
People have been found guilty of suggesting some commit suicide on social media. Why not something similar for continual, intentional false information being provided?
And no, Mother Tucker Carlson can't use, "Why can't we just drink bleach to cure whatever? Just Asking!"
I imagine if someone asked on any media why doesn't someone (shoot, beat, maul, poison or whatever) to Death Tucker? Pretty sure that person could be in a lot of trouble.
Just frustrated!

(32,628 posts)It became obvious to everyone including the LEOs that the person buying the drink will refuse to take responsibility, whenever there is loss of life or property involved as there would be in a DUI accident.
The driver who is charged with the DUI would always say in court, "But your Honor it's not my fault. The bartender gave me one last drink, and I didn't really want it because I was leaving. But since s/he gave it to me, I took it and drank it."
Oh really? That bartender twisted your arm and made you open your mouth? He made you swallow that alcohol, and handed you the keys and pushed you out the door? This is the evolution of adult responsibility - or should I say NON-responsibility - in our drinking and driving culture. This is what it has come to, holding the bartenders legally liable because SOMEBODY has to be the adult.
Even law enforcement officers themselves have caused DUI-accidents, because of drinking and driving off-duty. There was no other way to stop this madness.
Now if you want to equate the same rule (bartenders held liable for DUI accidents) to the masking mandate - I'm all for it. Soon there will be lawsuits from people who were infected and perhaps died, or rendered very ill - and the "culprit" is the store owner who allowed unmasked people to roam free in their store and spread their virus germs. The best way to avoid that liability is to require facemasks of everyone who enters your premises. I cannot understand why insurance companies haven't already pushed this. They could go broke paying off all the lawsuits.
