Loretta Lynn mourned the loss of ranch foreman Wayne Spears: "The whole Lynn family is heartbroken."
The Loretta Lynn Ranch shared that Spears had died after being swept up in flash floods Saturday.
Sheriff Chris Davis said Spears had been checking his barn animals.

Country legend Loretta Lynn is "heartbroken" following the death of longtime ranch foreman Wayne Spears amid devastating floods in Middle Tennessee.

The Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, within flood-ravaged Humphreys County, shared in a Facebook post Sunday that Spears died after being swept up in the flash floods.

"With the heaviest of hearts we are saddened to report that our beloved foreman Wayne Spears did not survive being swept up in the floodwaters," the Facebook post stated. "Wayne has been a family friend to the Lynns and a fixture to the Ranch for decades and we are all devastated by his passing."

A local report last night said that Humphrey County had 17 inches of rain in HOURS. Unbelievable.

So sad for Loretta and family.
