Former President Donald Trumps rally in Alabama Saturday featured one of the rarest of sights: A Trump crowd visibly angry at Trump.
The reason? Trump told people to go get vaccinated.
Operation Warp Speed, the unprecedented effort to develop and roll out a COVID-19 vaccine, began during the Trump administration, and the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines were approved for emergency use while he was still in office. But the incident in Alabama reflects the vaccine skepticism thats inundated the conservative movementeven as hospitals around the country are overwhelmed by the fourth sustained wave of the coronavirus.
Alabama, where just 36 percent of the population is fully vaccinated, has seen some of the worst effects of the Delta variant. The state is currently second only to neighboring Florida in hospitalization rate due to COVID, and its hospitals reached negative ICU capacity last week.

1. They don't nominate Trump in 2024.
2. They all die off sometime between now and Election 2024, allowing the Democratic candidate to win in a walk.

(115,587 posts)did they create him? I think it's becoming clearer that the answer is the latter. During his presidency they seemed to worship him and would think and do whatever he said - but now that he's out of power their inner transgressive assholery that he empowered is in full bloom, regardless of what he tells them. The inmates are running the Trump Asylum and he's just along for the ride. The GOP politicians will dance to Trump's tune, but Trump will have to dance to the MAGAts'.
I'd go with #2 also
As long as they saw him as their "winner," they could embrace him. But now he's the ONE THING they can't tolerate: a loser
Will be interesting to see if they can hold themselves together without a leader

QAnon influencers are having a hard time with Trump pushing the vaccine. But there is always an out, Trump may want QAnon adherents to boo him because smtn smtn plan, optics, or the fact they can't reconcile their prophet is now promoting the vaccine.

(18,969 posts)A well organized takeover would be relatively easy right now. If Liberals had a group that wanted to infiltrate, takeover, and then shape Q Anon, all they'd need is a few hundred thousand dollars in funding. That group of lemmings could be convinced to vote against every Republican in no time at all if a liberal group decided to take them over on the lowdown. Over time, you'd even be able to get them to go against Trump.
It's not a very well organized set of propaganda they follow right now, supplanting it with new propaganda would be easy.

(3,166 posts)Trump gets what he deserves. If the mob of MAGAts turn on him, he'll be finished.
How long before he walks that comment back?
