I on the Justice Democrats' email list and I have been amused by this group of non-democrats for a very long time. I have even listened to this group's podcast which is amusingly named "Just Us" democrats. Cenk, Waleed Shahid, Kyle Kulinksi and others. These are the same people behind "brand new congress", our revolution and the Sunrise Movement. The hatred that the Justice Democrats email have shown to the Democratic Patty, regular Democrats, Joe Biden and others is really sad but amusing. This group really hates Nancy Pelosi and her potential successor Hakeem Jeffries. I was amused to see a number of emails from the Just Us Dems attacking Jeffries and attacking the concept of Jeffries raising money to help regular Democrats who are being challenged in the primaries by this group. I love the concept of Team Blue PAC and will be donating this PAC (I also donated to one of the targets of the Just Us group last cycle).
Here is some more on this new PAC https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/house-democrats-launch-pac-protect-incumbents-attacks-within-n1272428

The political action committee, called Team Blue, will fill a gap for members running for re-election who might not be able to get help from the official committees of the Democratic Party to fend off primary challenges.
Democrats aren't taking any risks ahead of a difficult round of midterm elections as they try to hold on to their slim, four-seat majority in the House. Historically, the party of the president has lost seats in Congress in the midterm election.
Those losses could be made worse by tumultuous primary challenges.
Some of those primary challengers enjoy well-funded support from outside groups. Justice Democrats and Courage to Change, left-wing groups that enjoy support from well-known members like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., have been unafraid to pump money into races to oust Democratic incumbents.
I am regular Democrat and have been active in state and county politics for a long time. I was a Clinton delegate to the 2016 National convention and saw enough to convince me that moderate Democrats are a key part of the party base. This is contrary to the views of the Justice Democrats and their supporters
We saw a preview of this schism in the OH 11 race and luckily the candidate NOT backed by the Justice Democrat won.

(15,325 posts)That's exactly what Palin implied about Republicans, with her Tea Party run.
Tell us again how that turned out for the US?
Considering how Cenk's TYT was funded by RW Buddy Roemer for 400-800 million$ as long as he had a seat on the Board, & Zak Exley's (founder of Brand New Congress ) past ties to Russia dating back to 1991, & knowing that not a single one of them were a registered Democrat till conveniently around 2015/2016, its not even a question what their real goal is.
Factchecking is the most useful tool one can have in saving out Democracy.
"Money & Media," he laughed when asked why he suddenly decided to run on the Democratic ticket.
Said nothing about respect for, nor adherance to the long held tenats of the Democratic Party, just money & media.
Funny how every one of those who began running as a 'democrat' against the Democratic Party, are now millionares & multi millionares themselves.
Thanks for your informative OP, about time it's truth is told publicly.

(90,662 posts)Is Team Blue going to accept donations via Act Blue? Or am I going to have to register directly with their PAC?

(145,152 posts)This will be interesting. I just read two Just Us Democrat emails complaining about how mean it is for real Democrats to not agree to be replaced by Just Us supported candidates. These email are so stupid that they are funny.

The effort by Jeffries and two colleagues sets up potential showdowns with a band of younger and more liberal House members, such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), and arrives amid jockeying to eventually replace House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) if she makes good on her pledge to leave leadership after the upcoming elections.
The decision by Jeffries, 50, one of his partys top fundraisers and currently fourth in line behind Pelosi, is an early sign of continued frustration among many House Democrats at activist efforts by groups like the Justice Democrats to challenge liberal incumbents in big-city primaries. And it comes three years after Ocasio-Cortez dethroned a member of the party leadership in a shocking primary result.
Jeffries has formed a new fundraising effort, Team Blue PAC, with Problem Solvers Caucus co-chair Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) and New Democrat Coalition co-chair Terri A. Sewell (D-Ala.). The group will focus on protecting incumbent members of Congress in safe Democratic seats that are not a focus of the House Democratic campaign committee.
To date, Team Blue has indicated it will defend at least two incumbents, Rep. Danny K. Davis (D-Ill.) and Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney (D-N.Y.), two liberals who face fresh challenges from younger women of color backed by the Justice Democrats.
Hakeem Jeffries will make great speaker when Speak Pelosi retires I am amused by the attacks on Hakeem Jeffires by the Just Us types
Jeffriess involvement in the most recent primaries continues a long-running fight he has waged against more liberal elements of his party in New York, as he has cast himself as a leader who can bridge the Democratic donor community and the partys activist base. He has raised nearly $1.4 million for House Democrats so far this cycle, according to an adviser. At the same time, he has tried to show his ability to break the mold of previous leaders. In his closing arguments last year in President Donald Trumps first impeachment trial, Jeffries quoted a refrain from the late rapper Notorious B.I.G.s 1994 hit Juicy.
Again, I really like Hakeem Jeffries and he will make a great speaker when Pelosi retires
