Get vaccinated, get $100: Wisconsinites who get first dose of COVID-19 vaccine through Labor Day will get paid
Updated: August 23, 2021 2:01 PM by Logan Rude
OSHKOSH, Wis. First came the chance to win tickets to Game 6 of the Bucks NBA Finals run. Then came the free cream puffs. Now, Wisconsinites can get $100 if they get vaccinated.
Gov. Tony Evers announced the new vaccine incentive on Monday. Anyone who gets their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine between Aug. 20 and Sept. 6 will get a $100 Visa gift card. Wisconsinites ages 12 and older are eligible.
As our kids start returning back to school, and with the Delta variant spreading rapidly across the state, we all need to step up and stop the spread, and our COVID-19 vaccines are the best tools we have to do just that, Evers said. From now through Labor Day, if youre a Wisconsin resident and you get your first COVID-19 shot here in the state, you will get $100 bucks. Its that simple: get vaccinated, get $100. Im calling on all eligible Wisconsinites who have not gotten their COVID-19 vaccine yet to step up, roll up their sleeve, and do their part to help protect our state and put an end to COVID-19.
Wisconsinites will need to fill out a form online to verify that they got their first dose at an in-state vaccine provider during the span of the program. The cards will be mailed to participants addresses and may take up to six weeks to arrive.
