Be careful what you wish for ....

I was wondering why more Dems are not going on CNN to defend Biden and wishing that they would. I have been avoiding cable because of nonstop rightwing talking points on the subject of Afghanistan.

I just happened to catch Jim Himes (D) on the CNN a few minutes ago. To summarize: Biden blew it, he will investigate to find out how Biden blew it, Biden is chest thumping WAY too early (did not specify how), much more will go wrong, and don't worry he, Jim Himes, will find out exactly what Biden did wrong. Oh, and no more chest thumping, Biden. The worst is yet to come.

Yes, I am exaggerating, but seriously, that was the jist of it. So be careful of what you wish for is the moral of this story.

1. Few, if any, Dems want to get involved in this mess. Maybe in a week,

assuming things get better, we’ll see more.

Last week some were posting that CCC and MSNBC were purposely denying Democrats interviews. We now know Democrats want to keep their distance on the implementation of the drawdown.

getting pro-Biden voices onto the M$M, and that it was unusual the way he was being shut out.

Obviously it's a sample size of 1, but it's not like there's 0 support for that idea.

There's others apart from elected Dems who might be inclined to be more supportive.

don’t expect Newsome to jump on board, etc.

Honestly, I’m glad Democrats aren’t adding to the conflicting stories.

Again, maybe things will improve quickly.

5. I can't answer that, the booking agent didn't name names, but the fact that

he hasn't had any success getting pro-Biden voices on-air suggests that there's 'people' he's trying to get on but cannot (I mean, he said as much)

But at minimum, Dems don't have to go on air and talk a bunch of negative sh*t, do they?

I spoke to a veteran communications professional who has been trying to place prominent voices supportive of the Afghanistan withdrawal on television and in print.

They told me it has been next to impossible.

beyond, “We need to get out, but not like this.”

If say Speaker Pelosi or Schumer wanted to say everything is going swimmingly, they’d walk out to lectern and say it.

And all our Senators wouldn’t have signed a letter encouraging Biden to make sure Afghans who helped us get out.
