MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A 16-year-old football player at Westwood High School died from COVID-19 and pneumonia over the weekend, his family says.

Sunday, the principal at Westwood High sent out an automated message to students and parents about the death of Azorean Tatum but did not say how he died. SCS has not released any details.

Quintina Bucker said her son Azorean Tatum, who went by the name Zo, collapsed at school on Aug.13 and was taken to Baptist Children’s Hospital, where he was diagnosed with COVID.

And the Republicans have normalized this. Just like they did with school shootings, African Americans murdered by police, plight of the homeless, Trump's corrupt Presidency, etc.

Now we need to solve the puzzle and the direction this is going.

And who is directing it.

I'm not a conspiracy monger but, with all the republicans screaming about multiple conspiracies all the time...
We know they are the masters of projection. Maybe they're admitting there really is a conspiracy of their making.

A neighbor who was fully vaxxed said he had to use a gasoline bathroom in an emergency. He had received a negative COVID test two days before this emergency. He felt sick right after using the bathroom even though he was very careful in keeping mask on, using gloves, and sanitizing his hands before getting back into his car. By the time he reached home (20 mins later) he was having difficulty breathing. The next day he went to his urgent care facility was tested again for COVID and tested positive. He was given a Zpack, tylenol, and a vitamin B shot. He never felt any worse and by the next morning his breathing was better so he did not follow up with his doc. He is better but he says his lungs are still having some problems and his breathing is not norml.

It may be a good thing that the symptoms show up quickly so that mitigation measures can begin soon. I asked him if he was going to get the monoclonal antibody treatment. He has 24 hours to make up his mind which he hadn't done when I spoke with him.

It just doesn't hit that fast. He was likely already exposed when he tested negative two days earlier.

It's 1-2 days after exposure with Delta before you are contagious, then another 48 hours for symptoms to develop.

I presume he was exposed to covid, thus the covid test? You can test negative initially even if you are already infected.
He was most likely infected before he ever sat foot in the bathroom.

It was very fast too.

She had COVID in 2020 and was vaccinated this year.

Scary stuff.

My niece is just getting over a second bout. She too had it last year and was vaccinated. We were all at a family outing/canoe trip last week. My partner and I are fine (he tested twice at his work/hospital).

10. Being overweight is THE RISK FACTOR, SAY IT MEDIA!!!!!

For goodness sake, why is the media running around this issue? Why is Dr. Fauci and the President not saying it every dang day! It is killing people. The delta variant is amazing at obstructing the lungs and overweight people are already compromised in terms of their lungs.

From WedMD "Obesity causes mechanical compression of the diaphragm, lungs, and chest cavity, which can lead to restrictive pulmonary damage. Furthermore, excess fat decreases total respiratory system compliance, increases pulmonary resistance, and reduces respiratory muscle strength."

Lets stop being so dang ridiculously correct...every talk about Covid and kids and young people and vaccines should start off with this fact, said by every media personality and very guest.

"Get the vaccine. And if your child or loved one is overweight, THEY MUST GET THE VACCINE OR THEY COULD DIE. Weight is the #1 risk factor by far in determining the outcome of Covid in younger people!!!!!"

But he was severely overweight and had asthma.

You are right. diabetes, asthma and being overweight are huge risk factors. Not just for Trumpsters either. We had a lesbian couple a while back and one of them was very overweight but they were young and hadn't gotten around getting vaccinated. People were doing mental gymnastics not to point out the obvious.

People with preexisting conditions such as the above should not be in public while the Delta variant is raging and certainly should not be in school. Vaccinated or not.

To shame anti-vaxxers (and yes they deserve their fair share of shame) and score political points online than to point out the obvious, especially when one is overweight and doesn't want to dwell on their own bad decisions.

We have known that obesity is the single biggest factor in how one fares against COVID for well over a year. In that time people could have made major progress with weight loss and lifestyle changes.
