I just can't ...

I just feel all beat up these days. I'm tired of it all. I'm tired of the anti-vaxxers, the maskless morons, the dumbasses who will take toxic horse wormer instead of a free vaccine, the people who are so staunchly devoted to their ignorance that the entire nation is at risk of losing Democracy and the war against Covid. I also am exhausted from wearing the mask and lately we're having to wear N95s and gowns and shields again. When will it ever end? I'm so exhausted from it all. I cannot listen to another problem, be an ear to anyone. Even my sense of humor and my bitch skills seem broken these days. I just have nothing to give. I'm worn out.

I'm going to try to bury myself in artwork for a while to give myself a break. Too burnt out for anything.

Stay safe.

At least help you to feel better. You say you do art? Love to see some of your work someday. I do art too and I feel like a morass half the time. Art is one of my major coping mechanisms too.

Art can give substance to things words can never capture.

I am concentrating heavily on getting deeper into my understanding of guitar and mastering my control over diabetes.

Find something that soothes you and something that improves you and focus there.

Remember this simple prayer:

God grant me the serenity

To accept the things I cannot change

The courage to change the things I can

And the wisdom to know the difference

You are not alone.

It said.."Everything will be okay in the end...if things are not okay, this is just not the end". It was attributed to Anonymous. Pretty wise person whoever she or he is/was. I am more of a Churchill person..."If you are going through hell, KEEP ON GOING!". I do hope art or poetry or a soft warm quiet sunset or sunrise helps. My only comfort is history (ok, gin and whisky help too) and what collectively humanity and this country has been through. And we have not only survived, ultimately we have thrived. I know, when we see obvious mistakes we see politicians and other making in the face of Covid, it boggles and hurts the brain. And MANY are and will suffer and many needlessly. BUT. We...WE! will survive. And I believe we will thrive again. As in civil and world wars and the Spanish Flu we will mourn our losses. We may say "Never again!" sincerely and yet the human condition...that same condition that creates great art and literature... will again fail us in other ways. I suppose one could say we are cursed. As much as I have no reason to be I am still the Glass is Half Full guy. Maybe the bar is lower. Maybe I AM FLAT WRONG! But the long arc of history, and especially American history, suggests there is at least hope. Here is to hope!

i have empty rental units mostly because i just cant deal w people.
cant do it myself any more, and just cant w people who either dont respect me/my experience, or people who are afraid of me.
that happens. i'm a educated, experienced woman, give no fucks, and a sad number of men cant deal w that.

i used to like people, but a lot of people around me were trapped rats last year, and i'm just worn out from it all.

It's enough to turn one into a misanthrope.

So many of our fellow humans are nihilists who'd would rather see humanity slowly decline and die off from mostly preventable disasters than temporarily give up even a small number of their individual freedoms. These people are opposed to the fundamental precepts of civilization.

Tens of thousands of years since the rise of human civilization began, we seem to be going backwards.

I feel depleted. I volunteer at a food shelf two days a week. I and my husband are vaccinated and extremely careful. I live in a good state (MN) with great leadership both locally and nationally. I am still afraid, wearing masks, socially distancing and staying away from gatherings of any sort. It’s just too much and then there are idiots who won’t vaccinate.

We have a first amendment right to exercise free speech. As we all know with this right and all others comes responsibility. One of the tenets of free speech responsibility is that it has been determined that one cannot scream "fire" in a crowded theater* and thus is not protected free speech.

Which begs the question, if statements that are considered dangerous and false are not protected free speech then why do we allow it to be broadcast from AM radio stations, TV networks and practically every corner of the internet each and every day ad nauseam?

Anyone care to chime in and express how we can use court precedent to nullify Focksnooze, AM hate radio and literally thousands of Tweets, and Crackbook misinformation postings daily?

have covid. In TX & in their 80's.

Forget all the past. Forget the right wing politics they have

Think of every one as a simple human being. Whatever led them to being anti-vax or a trumpeter.. there is a real and true problem. How do we save the lives of human beings, regardless.

then I climb back out.

It helps living in more blue NYC vs like Texas, and some other States.

Of course some other local, regional, USA, or International issue(s) can bring me down for a while, too.

Luckily lots of stuff to stream, Creative Pursuits, and family, and friends to FB with, or phone calls to chat. 💖👍
