Fauci Says Covid May Be Under Control By Spring If Everybody Does Their Part, Haha That's Precious

https://www.wonkette.com/dr-fauci-says-pandemic-maybe-over-by-spring-if-everybody-does-their-part-haha-that-s-precious

Poor Anthony Fauci. He's been yelling at the brick wall of ignorance that is the American people for a year and a half now, and bless his heart, he hasn't given up.

Fauci told Anderson Cooper last night that if ... IF! ... the "overwhelming majority" of Americans would just get their goddamned shots, we could ... COULD! ... have this damn pandemic under control by the spring.

"We hope we'll be there," said Fauci, "but there's no guarantee because it's up to us." And we all know how well "up to us" has gone with Americans and this pandemic, or Americans and literally every other thing Americans have tried to accomplish the last four decades.

On the other hand, Fauci said, "If we keep lingering without getting those people vaccinated that should be vaccinated, this thing could linger on and lead to the development of another variant." So we'll just pencil that in as more likely.

and Wonkette says, "haha, that's precious"? As if Fauci is naive and doesn't understand where we are as a country politically? Does Wonkette prefer that Fauci "give up" because "bless his heart" is something people can say to indicate concern or sympathy, or as a backhanded compliment, especially in that context.

Fauci and other scientists HAVE TO act on the idea that they can reach people. If they don't then what is the point of them doing any research?

Public health issues are exactly up to us.

Yes, Fauci is discharging his duty as a public health professional and doing a good job of it. Wonkette's snark is for the brick wall of stubborn ignorance that's standing in the way of getting ahead of the virus.

that she couldn't believe people wouldn't touch the vaccine, but would take horse medicine. She got a lot of reponses that agreed with her, but there were replies from superstitious peasants as well. I replied to the person who said the vaccine was 'POISON' and she wouldn't put it in her body. I didn't attack her, just quoted some information I read about the viral load in vac vs. unvaxxed, along those lines. Predictably, she asked me if I was a viral specialist. God forbid somebody has book learning. I ignored her question and mentioned that I know or know of 18 people who have died from Covid since last March and I got the vaccine so I wouldn't add to the pain and suffering of my loved ones. And ended by saying I'm on the side of the humans, not the virus.

They have an episode on pandemics. It's not good news. There is also one on meat, that if I remember correctly says that meat takes up too many resources.

We will see a lot more ppl get the vaccine.

Yes...they’ll him and haw and some will say they never took it, but eventually it will become too inconvenient to not be vaccinated
